Rihanna is an acting star
Superstar singer Rihanna will soon make her debut into acting in the film Battleship and her director, Peter Berg, is confident that her performance is "really, really good."
Berg was not only impressed with her acting during filming, but goes as far as to call her a natural.
MTV News quoted him as saying: "I was surprised no one had ever thought to hire Rihanna (as an actress). I was a huge fan of her videos. Obviously she’s sexy, but she has this real intensity."
Berg says the singer has a "very strong part" within the movie.
He told MTV News that Rihanna was determined to be pushed to get the best performance.
"She was like, ‘Look, I want to be an actress. Don’t kiss my ass. Don’t lie to me. Push me. Treat me as you would any other actor. Help make me good.’ She is really, really good in Battleship."
Rihanna has made a cameo appearance as herself in the 2006 direct-to-DVD film Bring It On: All or Nothing.
In Battleship, the 24-year-old singer stars as Petty Officer Raikes alongside newcomer Taylor Kitsch who stars as naval commander Alex Hopper in the sci-fi thriller about a fleet of ships who come to blows with an alien force.
