Airtel Kenya has appointed top Kenyan gospel artist Daddy Owen as its official brand ambassador. The one-year partnership will see Daddy Owen promoting the Airtel brand and endorsing the brands products and services.
Airtel Kenya managing director Shivan Bhargava commented on today’s announcement saying, “As a brand we have been passionate about music for a long time and this year we are extremely pleased to unveil Daddy Owen as our brand ambassador for the next one year. This great partnership is one of the avenues that we will connect with Kenyans and bring our brand values to life.”
Expressing his excitement, Daddy Owen said, “I am excited to be appointed as the brand ambassador for Airtel Kenya; a brand that has changed the way Kenyans communicate by providing affordable superior communication and services. I am passionate about creating a positive change in our communities and I believe that my partnership with Airtel will go a long way in touching the hearts and lives of Kenyans.”
The endorsement will see the award winning musician promoting the company’s product and services and participating in both the marketing and brand campaigns. Daddy Owen is currently the top Kenyan gospel artist, popular for his Kapungala type of music, which he claims is a fusion of Kapuka and Lingala. He is the only gospel artist in the Africa have won an MTV MAMA Award and he is currently riding high with his hot track ‘Mbona’ which focuses on positively addressing the issues around disability.
Shivan Bhargava further stated that the partnership with Daddy Owen is consistent with the company’s brand policy of leading in industry innovation and creating delightful and locally relevant brand experiences for Kenyans.
