English actor, Idris Elba’s self-proclaimed Ugandan wives, Siima Sabiti and Kemiyondo Courtinho are set for tonight’s highly anticipated showdown at the 6th TotalGaz Cook Off, to once and for all decide who the better “wife” is.
Sabiti, a bubbly XFM Morning show presenter and Kemiyondo, a dynamic “artrepreneur”, have over the years held on to a friendly rivalry because of their mutual love and adoration for Elba who doubles as a DJ.
Announcing her participation in the Total GAZ Cookoff this morning, Kemiyondo bragged that Idris Elba had already declared her winner.“I have a cook off with Kanyindo tonight. Idris told me he likes the way I stir his stir fry. Total Uganda should just hand me the award,” said Kemiyondo.
These cook offs are part of the activations for the 3rd edition of Kampala Restaurant Week which kicked off last week. The Restaurant Week is the largest restaurant showcase in Kampala with over 40 of the city’s best restaurants participating. Winners of these Total GAZ Cook offs will win home a full Total GAZ Cooking kit
Total GAZ sponsored the 10 day foodie event with a kitty of Shs25 million and will also run a promotion at 10 select Total Stations. According to Marvin Kagoro, the marketing and communications manager, Total Uganda, the promotion will see lucky Total GAZ customers win Kampala Restaurant Week vouchers to dine at any of the participating restaurants.
Kampala Restaurant Week will be wrapped up on 15th July with an awards ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel Kampala where the most outstanding participants and Best Chef in this edition will be recognized. Tonight’s winner will stand a chance of winning the award of Uganda’s best chef.
