Ashawo singer Chinedu Okoli better known by his stage name Mr Flavour N’abania has revealed that he ran from home after his family tried to stop him from doing music.

“Yes its true, I went away after my family tried to stop me” he said.

The artist was speaking at the Coke studio press conference in Kenya. He revealed that revered video producer and director Clarence Peters who shot his latest song’s video recommended former Big Brother winner, Dillish as the ideal person to use in the video.

“My director Clarence Peters said the video needed a face that would give the video that x factor to get it out there” he said.

The artist has been paired with Victoria Kimani for the Coke Studio project.

“Victoria has a smooth sexy voice and I have that appeal so yes we can come up with something that people would love”.

He urged African artists to work together and unite as it was easier to sell African music to the world as one.

“Look at the Americans, they support each other, they don’t care where you are from , they work together and that is how they have brought their music the far it has come”.

He applauded the Coke Studio initiative saying that it was a step ahead for Africa and an opportunity for Africa to showcase its music. Flavor’s next album will have a thanks giving theme, as his other three albums have been about the progress of his career.

Flavour is the fourth Nigerian artist to visit Kenya this year. The others are Burna Boy, Chidima and Davido who were there last month.
